FILM OVERVIEW
In the spiritual town of Sedona, a spunky woman in her 50s, determined to live life to the fullest, crosses paths on a hiking trail with a kind but broken man in his 50s. As they navigate their emotional baggage and societal expectations, they discover an unexpected connection that challenges their views on love, justice, legacy, and the betterment of humankind.
Both in their 50s, JULIE has just lost her father and WILL is recently divorced and struggling to connect with his teenage daughter and figure out who he is after everything that defined him is gone. Kindred spirits, they explore ideas about civil rights, justice, spirituality, and the purpose of life, which they conclude is to love each other and work toward the betterment of society. They find out it’s never too late to fall in love and confirm our spiritual connection to those who look after us once they've crossed over.
Who will you connect with on your journey?
Here is a reading of an early scene that demonstrates the tone of the dialogue (2 minutes):
ONE DAY IN SEDONA is film that uses a romantic connection between two people in their 50s to open up conversations about the civil rights issues that matter to Americans today. From income inequality to climate change and legal injustice, these two characters, a civil right lawyer and the daughter of a recently deceased civil rights lawyer, imagine a better and fairer world as they connect and flirt on a hike in the spiritual hotspot, Sedona, Arizona. The film uses the comfort of a romantic encounter to tackle the issues that scare us about our future, so that audiences can leave the experience feeling uplifted and open to discussing what they can do to make the world equitable for everyone and how they might leave a legacy that makes their life worth having been lived.

People in mid-life who find themselves starting over due to those pivotal life changes that often occur at that stage, including having to care for their parents or losing them, divorce, teenage children, and other underrepresented struggles and health issues that deserve to be validated.
"One Day in Sedona" is a grounded indie romance feature film with a reflective and hopeful tone. It balances light-hearted moments with deeper emotional themes, making it a compelling story of love, self-discovery, and societal impact."
