WHY THIS FILM MATTERS
ONE DAY IN SEDONA is film that uses a romantic connection between two people in their 50s to open up conversations about the civil rights issues that matter to Americans today. From income inequality to climate change and legal injustice, these two characters, a civil rights lawyer and the daughter of a recently deceased civil rights lawyer, imagine a better and fairer world as they connect and flirt on a hike in the spiritual hotspot, Sedona, Arizona. The film uses the comfort of a romantic encounter to tackle the issues that scare us about our future, so that audiences can leave the experience feeling uplifted and open to discussing what they can do to make the world equitable for everyone and how they might leave a legacy that makes their life worth having been lived.
